It is located 52 kilometers away from Tepic in a volcanic crater that with the passing of time became a beautiful semicircular lagoon of 2.25 kilometers long and 1.2 kilometers wide. Its sulfurous waters, with an average temperature of 25ºC, are used for swimming, boating and fishing. The fresh water is rich in minerals and has a high level of alkalinity with constant color changes ranging from blue to bright green. This lagoon is also known as the Enchanted Lagoon.
